Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and the LL.BS (first class) International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)
Apnizan obtained her LL.B (Honours), Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and LL.BS (first class) from IIUM in 2003, 2004 & 2014 respectively. She received dean’s list certificates & rector’s list during her undergraduate & postgraduate studies. She was also awarded with the Best Student Award for Islamic Banking & Takaful in 2003. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006 and subsequently practiced at Messrs. Mak Farid & Company.
She was a lecturer at the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman and University Malaya from the year 2007 to 2010. In 2011, she obtained the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) from INCEIF and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Practitioners (CIIF) since then.
She served the International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) as a Researcher from year 2012 to 2013 and the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia as a Research Fellow from year 2015 to July 2021. She has written various research papers and articles in academic journals, magazines, newspapers, and websites and presented research outputs at national and international seminars and conferences.
She has been active in conducting training for Islamic banks & advisory works in the sphere of Islamic Financial laws since 2010 focusing on the regulatory and governance aspects & legal documentation in Islamic finance practice.

She has been engaged by public and private entities, locally and internationally for consultancy works in Islamic finance & wealth management. She specializes in Islamic financial laws, wealth management & governance matters. Due to her vast experience & exposure in the Islamic finance industry, the Financial Accreditation Agency (FAA) has appointed her as a Professional Assessor.
She was a Senior Associate at Messrs. Mu’az Aiman Halem Auzan & Associates from October 2021 to July 2022 & an Ad-hoc Senior Consultant at Tawafuq Consultancy.
She currently sits as one of the Shariah Committee Members of MBSB Bank. The award she received on 15 June 2023 known as ‘WOMANi Professional For the Year 2022’ and is listed as one of “the Most Influential Women in Islamic Business and Finance ”, indeed evidenced the market recognition of her contribution to Islamic finance and Halal Business Industry.
